Winter 2025
Global Outreach
We are so grateful to announce our newest program: GLOBAL OUTREACH!! And our first destination is India! This cause is one that is very near and dear to us, and we are so fortunate to be able to give back on a global scale. Thank you for your support in our previous endeavors; we cannot wait to start this new journey with you!
Poverty and patriarchy plague many societies in India, isolating women while leaving them to care for their children. Being of Indian descent, I hope to give back to the communities that raised my family and were so welcoming to me when I visited each summer. We hope to ease the burden upon these mothers by collecting necessities for them and their families.
Fall 2025
Diwali Markets
Sheltering Our Sisters has worked in partnership with Artisana, a jewelry company that employs impoverished women in India to help them support their families. It was important for us to partner with a company that held the same values as us, and we were lucky enough to join Artisana at two successful, local Diwali markets, where 20% of all profits earned by Artisana went to Sheltering Our Sisters. These proceeds were used to buy goods for the women at our partnering shelters, and we were able to supply them with many items to use this fall season.
Winter 2024
Coat Drive
As the weather cools down, it's hard for some families to afford jackets to stay warm in harsh conditions. Thanks to the unwavering support of our community, we were able to collect many jackets to distribute to women and children in need. With your help, many families were able to stay warm and safe during the cold winter months.
Fall 2024
School Supply Drive
Some families cannot afford to buy school supplies, so we turned to our community to lend a helping hand. They responded to the call with overwhelming support and across two donation boxes, we were able to collect hundreds of school supplies. These supplies were then donated to local women's shelters where they were distributed to many children in need, relieving many single mothers of the stress of having to buy their children school supplies. Thanks to your help, these children now have the tools they need to set them up for a successful school year!
